CAN'T ESTABLISH A RELIABLE CONNECTION TO THE SERVER (Play Store connection issues and how to fix it))

I tried to download an app from my android playstore but the error report that kept coming was “no connection, try again”. I tried all I could to fix it but to no avail. I changed apn settings a couple of times but nothing happened. I changed to another network provider, still nothing happened. But after a couple of researches, I came across different posts that helped to an extent and then I had to use my head to finish the rest.

Now I will give you a step by step guide on how to fix this problem on your android phones without having to consult any engineer or service provider customer care. So easy, but you have to be careful so you don’t end up rendering your phone useless.
Enough of the story, lets get to work.

METHOD 1
Clear your cache and app data.
To do this, go to the settings option on your phone, the Apps, all apps, then look for playstore, click on it and look for the clear cache option, and tap on it, on the dialogue box that appears, click ok. Then also look for clear data and tap on it. Go back one step and look for google play services and do the same thing you did to playstore. Look for google service framework and repeat the same step. You can also clear cache from recovery mode. To do this, first switch off your phone. Then press the power button and the volume up button together. When the phone boots into recovery mode, use your volume down button to navigate to wipe cache and use your volume-up button to select. It usually takes a couple of seconds. Now reboot your phone and try using playstore again. If this does not work, then move to method 2.

METHOD 2
Update playstore.
Sometimes when your version of playstore is too old, it tends to give you problems. So just delete the version of playstore you have and get the latest one. If your phone can not download playstore, then you probably have to download it on a laptop or desktop and transfer to your phone. Do the same for google play services and google service framework. If this doesn’t work, then you move to Method 3.

METHOD 3
Wipe your phone.
Before you wipe your phone, it’s advisable that you backup all your data first. You can check online to see different third party app to do this for you and it’s very easy. After backing up your data, you can now wipe your phone. To do this, first switch off your phone. Then press the power button and the volume up button together. When the phone boots into recovery mode, use your volume down button to navigate to wipe user data and use the volume-up button to select. Once this is done, you can now reboot your phone and try the play store again. If this doesn’t fix the problem, then we move to method 4.

METHOD 4.
This is the most technical one.
Here you would have to root your phone to get access to some root folders and their contents. First, you download king root to root your phone. This is very easy. Once your phone is rooted, download and install Root Browser. On your first use, it will ask for root permission. Press ok. Now look for a folder named “etc”, open it and look for a file named “hosts”. Tap the file and open as text, then in the dialogue box that appears, click on RB Text Editor. Once the file opens, delete all the contents and insert these characters.
                127.0.0.1 localhost
                #127.140.147.135 android clients google.com
Now press the back button and save the file.
Now reboot your phone and this should fix the problem. But if it doesn’t, then it’s probably because the hosts file has regenerated some codes by itself. So for me, what I did was to completely delete the file and recreate it with the codes above and that was how I finally fixed my google play store connection issues.

I hope this helps. If it does, please don't forget to drop your comment and share the info with your friends. You've got some questions? Or you need some clarifications? Just drop them in the comment box below and I'll reply ASAP
