Adding Label Gadget to Your Blog and Adding Labels to Your Posts

You want it to be easy for your visitors to navigate the different niches you have in your blog? All you need to do is to categorize your posts and make those categories easy to assess by placing them in a place where visitors can easily find them.


If you are using blogger, you might have probably noticed that blogger is yet to have that category feature, instead it uses "label". So you can easily label your posts while writing them just before you publish them and if you have published them already, you can still easily label them. How do you do this? I'll explain.

To label your posts while writing them (i.e. before you publish them), all you need to do is to look towards you right and you notice the label tag just like in the picture below

click on labels and type in the name of the label you want to add the post to and click "Done".

If you have already published the post, and you need to add a label to it, then just go to your published posts and mark the post you want to add to a label, then click on the label tag as shown in the image below

Then click the label you want and that's it.


Now to make your labels visible to your visitors, go to Layout on your dashboard, and click on "add gadget"

Then from the list that appears, check for "labels" and click on "add"

Then a box pops up for you to configure how your label appears in your blog just like in the picture below. If you want all your labels to show on your blog, click on "all labels", but if you want to select some and leave the others, then select "selected labels". Choose your sorting order and display type. then for the "show number of post per label", you might want to leave it unchecked 'cos it sometimes make it hard for you to customize the label menu on your blog. Once you are done with the configuration, click save.

After saving, you can drag the label gadget you have just created to wherever you want it to appear in your blog (just like in this blog, the label menu appears just below the header). Then, you can click on "save arrangement".

Now, when you have a visitor, it is very much easier for them to navigate to the particular post that interests them by just clicking on the label menu you have just created on your blog. Isn't this cool?
